Undergraduate Summer Studentships
July and August 2013
Each summer the Clinical Science Centre provides an intensive laboratory research experience to undergraduate students in the biological and clinical sciences. By offering first class research opportunities we want to prepare degree students to become future research leaders. We particularly encourage applications from students who are interested in undertaking a PhD at the CSC.
Recruitment for 2013 is now closed.
All applicants will be informed of the outcome of their applications by Wednesday 22nd May.
Only undergraduate students in the middle years of their degree are eligible to apply. First and final year students are not eligible. International applications are welcome, but the studentship does not cover travel costs to London.
Successful applicants are matched with a research group to work and study in for the duration of their studentship, gaining valuable laboratory experience and contributing to the work of the lab. They also attend demonstrations of the facilities and techniques used throughout the Institute, and learn from each other about the research going on in other labs by giving presentations on the final day of the programme.
The studentship for 2013 includes a £190 weekly stipend from the Nuffield Foundation to cover travel and subsistence, and assistance with campus housing placement for those who required it.
