Computing Services works in partnership with the research groups at the CSC to provide computational solutions for cutting edge science.
The facility provides the IT infrastructure to support state-of-the art scientific equipment and research, high performance computing facilities, an IT helpdesk and will also provide bioinformatics and informatics support in the near future.
Computing Support Services
- A professional helpdesk providing desktop support to Windows, Linux & Mac PCs.
- High performance computer clusters providing parallel computing facilities for intensive image processing, statistical and genomic sequence analysis.
- Fast network and internet access within the CSC and to Imperial College computational facilities such as the London e-Science Centre.
- Specialist computing solutions to support scientific equipment and research activities.
- Extensive backup and archiving service.
Bioinformatics & Informatics
- Bioinformatics advice and assistance for data analysis across the CSC research sections; encompassing support for genomic, proteomic and epigenetic data.
- Informatics support for the development of biological databases and software applications.
- Support for high performance computing and algorithm development.
- Providing and co-ordinating CSC bioinformatics resources for researchers.
- Training and support for data analysis, bioinformatics software, packages and databases.
- Resources for Next Generation Sequencing Analysis
